Consider the following theorem: "Let f be a definite and continuous function in a closed interval (a, b) and derivable at the internal points. Then there is at least one point c, comprised between a and b, such that, f (b) - f (a ) = f '(c) (ba) ". How is this theorem known?

  1. Chain rule;
  2. Mean value Theorem;
  3. Rolle's Theorem;
  4. Extreme Value Theorem;
  5. None of above;

  1. Good question, but I don't want to reward people for knowing the names of things. Of course, this is important information when you communicate science, but it is not something I would want people to know off the top of their heads. I'll pass on this one. Thanks anyway. Note: I guess you meant f'(c)(b - a), right?

    1. As a matter of initial concepts, I thought that would be a good concept to know. But you are absolutely right, I should think about the knowledge itself. Thank you for the feedback professor. It was really helpful. And yes, I meant f'(c)(b - a). It was a typo. I should take more care about typing as well. Thank you very much.
